Anthology: Volume One

A dynamic series of short pieces ask the question: When nothing seems certain, do we recoil, adapt…or dance?

Project History:

Anthology: Volume One was the inaugural installment of Infinite Spark’s Anthology series showcasing short-form theater pieces. Inspired by the “collected short works” formatting of our first show (And They Never Recovered From The Shock), the Anthology series was launched to be an ongoing platform for short-form, collaborative, experimental theater.

Anthology: Volume One premiered in August 2025 at The Auguste Roost, in Rochester, NY.

Anthology: Volume One was conceived and curated by Rachel Kodweis and Jon Froehlich, in collaboration with the ensemble:

Synopsis:

Anthology: Volume One is comprised of four pieces, all of which were framed by the original composition The Sprite’s Experiment, in which a woodland pixie tries their hand at conjuring and transformation.

Watercall: A surrealistic foray into the wild: Nature has a plan—who will hear it?

Love’s Dream: A Fragment: An early moment of a longer piece exploring a soul’s journey from separation to communion;

Petra: A further adaption of a one-act for a solo performer based on the true, and more-than-true story of an artist in exile;

A Long Fatal Love Chase: An adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s long-forgotten gothic novel into a rollicking small stage (tréteaux) performance featuring five adventurous performers who create everything from scratch with only their bodies and voices.
